Thursday, July 18

Port Promenade

5 p.m.-10 p.m. (Main Street, Port Washington) Main Street, Port Washington becomes a car-free zone. The ultimate Port Washington Block Party packed with family fun, music, and games and activities for all ages includes a fashion show, kids’ messy zone, lawn games and corn hole, mini golf, Touch-A-Truck and more. Main Street closes from Port Washington Boulevard to Mackey Avenue. Free parking on side streets and commuter lots after 3 p.m.

7 p.m.-9 p.m. (North Hempstead Beach Park) The Side Cars: The Cars tribute band.

Friday, July 19

Sandwiched In: Maritime Music and Songs of the Sea

A Time For Kids: Sensory Story Time

This is an interactive story time where kids are encouraged to use their 5 senses to learn about the story and activities. Kids will sing, dance, and move about the room with sensory bins and gross motor activities. For children ages 2 to 5 years with an adult. Registration required. A Sprinkle of Spanish Story Time

11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Port Washington Public Library, 1 Library Dr) Join us for stories, music and movement in English and Spanish. Ages 18 months to 5 years old with an adult. Admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Cricut Craft: Designing stickers

6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Port Washington Public Library, 1 Library Dr) Want to learn how to make your own stickers? In this first part of a two-part workshop, Librarian Meaghan will show you how to design your own stickers using the Cricut software, Cricut Design Space.  This is a “bring your own device” program. Please take some time to install the Cricut Design Space software before the program, https://design.cricut.com/#/. Anyone 8 and up is welcome, but we do ask that participants under the age of 11 be accompanied by an adult. All supplies will be provided. Registration for the workshop opens on July 10th. Please note: Chromebooks are not compatible with the Cricut Design Space software, so will not work for this program. Laptops (both Mac and PC) and iPads work well.
