Glen Cove Parade Committee Makes Generous $17,000 Donation To Local Charities

The Glen Cove Parade Committee demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community support by presenting a significant donation of $17,000 to two deserving local charities: the Sage Foundation, benefiting the Glen Cove Senior Center, and NOSH Delivers, a non-profit food pantry serving the area.

Established in 1989, the Glen Cove Parade Committee has a long-standing tradition of supporting charitable causes across the community. Past beneficiaries of their philanthropy include prominent organizations such as the Winters Center for Autism, St. Vincent de Paul, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The donation was made possible through the success of the 36th Annual Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade, held on March 17 at Finley Middle School and activities leading up to the parade. The parade celebrated the spirit of the occasion with Christine Rice serving as Grand Marshal and Patricia Victoria as Aide to the Grand Marshal.

Christine Rice, this year’s Grand Marshal, selected two main charities to benefit from the parade’s proceeds: the Glen Cove SAGE Foundation and NOSH Delivers Inc. “I was beyond honored to have been asked to be Grand Marshal of the St. Patrick’s Day parade by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Being able to raise money for the SAGE Foundation and NOSH Delivers, Inc., two not-for-profits that are so near and dear to my heart, meant the world to me. I am extremely grateful to all who donated to help support these two wonderful organizations.”

The Sage Foundation supports the Glen Cove Senior Center in its mission to enhance the quality of life for local senior citizens, while NOSH Delivers Inc. provides vital food assistance to families and individuals in need.

Parade Chairwoman Lisa Forgione expressed her delight, saying, “It is heartwarming to see the impact of our efforts in bringing smiles to those in need. The generosity of our community enables us to make a meaningful difference through these donations.”
The Glen Cove Parade Committee operates independently, relying solely on tax-deductible corporate sponsorships and individual contributions to fund its activities. All excess funds raised beyond parade expenses are channeled directly into carefully selected charitable initiatives.
