WWII Hero From Hicksville Honored On 99th Birthday

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino celebrated the 99th birthday of longtime Hicksville resident and World War II United States veteran, Clifford Arthur Doering. A decorated Army Corps combat veteran, Clifford is one of the last survivors of the Okinawa campaign. He has lived an exemplary life and is an incredible source of pride for his family and the entire Town of Oyster Bay. Supervisor Saladino proclaimed Saturday, May 18, 2024, as “U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Clifford Arthur Doering Day” in the Town of Oyster Bay, and commended him for his distinguished service to the United States of America and freedom around the world.
