Uniondale
Arrest

The Nassau County Police Department’s First Squad arrested a Hempstead man for allegedly possessing a firearm on Thursday, Sept. 12 in Uniondale.

According to detectives, First Precinct officers observed a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound on Nassau Road with defective headlights. Officers conducted a New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law Stop in front of 930 Nassau Rd.

After an investigation, officers arrested the operator of the vehicle, Jarrad Wall, 33. The officers found an RF-15 Pistol and two loaded ammunition magazines and two unloaded ammunition magazines in the vehicle, police said.

Wall is charged with criminal possession of a firearm in the third degree, criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition feeding devices and multiple traffic infractions.

New Hyde Park
Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Third Squad arrested a New Jersey man for an elder scam/grand larceny that occurred on Friday, Sept. 6, in New Hyde Park.

According to detectives, a 69-year-old female received a phone call from an unknown male claiming to be a Walmart employee. The male advised her that there was fraudulent activity on her account and that the victim’s social security number was compromised. She was then instructed to move her money out of her bank account to protect it, police said.

On Monday, Sept. 9, the woman withdrew $20,000 and met with an unknown male subject in the parking lot of City Park Plaza on Jericho Turnpike and gave the subject the money to safeguard it.

The woman later realized she was being scammed and contacted police. On Friday, Sept. 13, the subject contacted the woman again and requested additional funds.

Detectives then coordinated with the victim to locate and arrest Tejas Kapur, 51, in the parking lot of City Park Plaza.

Kapur is charged with grand larceny in the third degree and attempted grand larceny in the third degree.

East Meadow
Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Third Squad arrested a South Farmingdale man for an assault that occurred on Saturday, Sept. 14, in East Meadow.

According to detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to Nassau University Medical Center, located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike, to assist a combative individual.

While attempting to calm down, Andrew Odonohue, 37, allegedly kicked and struck an officer in the face, causing substantial pain, police said.

Odonohue is charged with assault in the second degree.

Robbery
The Nassau County Police Department’s Third Squad arrested a Baldwin man for a robbery that occurred on Thursday, Sept. 19, in East Meadow.

According to detectives, a 72-year-old male was working as a driver for Hub Taxi when he was dispatched to pick up a customer at Nassau County Medical Center.

When James Ely, 23, entered the vehicle, he was informed how much the fare would be and that it was required before the transport. He became irate, police said.

The taxi driver exited the vehicle and was followed by the Ely, police said. Ely then allegedly poured an unknown liquid on the taxi driver, punched him in the head and chest, and took his cell phone from him, police said.

Officers were called to the scene, and Ely was found hiding behind Mavis Discount Tires.
Ely is charged with robbery in the third degree.

Bethpage
Robbery

The Nassau County Police Department’s Eighth Squad is investigating a robbery that occurred in Bethpage on Wednesday, Sept.18.

According to detectives, Eighth Precinct police responded to Susan’s Pub, located at 8 Railroad Ave., for a robbery. An investigation revealed that an unknown male subject entered the bar and grabbed a 64-year-old male customer from behind, holding him while demanding cash from the 64-year-old female bartender, police said.

The male subject then reached into a box on top of a bar and removed an undisclosed amount of money. The subject then fled from the bar on foot and fled in an unknown direction with the proceeds, police said.

There were no injuries reported. The investigation is ongoing.

The subject is described as being male, race unknown, 5’10” tall, 180 Lbs., medium build, black hooded sweatshirt, dark gloves, black sunglasses with blue lenses and a dark mask, police said.

Mineola
Arrest/Grand Larceny

The Nassau County Police Department’s Third Squad arrested a male for a grand larceny in Mineola on Thursday, Sept. 19.

According to detectives, a female, 69, parked her Toyota Corolla in a marked parking spot on Jericho Turnpike and left the keys in the center console.

When returning to her vehicle, she saw it drive away eastbound on Jericho Turnpike, police said. She called 911 and reported the incident.

Officers observed the vehicle driving westbound on Jericho Turnpike near Old Courthouse Road. They activated their emergency lights and attempted to conduct a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop, but the vehicle refused to pull over.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a parked car on Central Avenue near 2nd Street in Garden City Park. Eleya Dah, 27, was arrested without incident, police said.

Dah was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Dah is charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

Massapequa
Arrest
The Nassau County Police Department’s Seventh Squad arrested a Brooklyn man on Saturday, Sept. 14, in Massapequa for criminal possession of a forged instrument.

According to detectives, Seventh Precinct officers performed a vehicle and traffic law stop of a transit bus traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway in the vicinity of East Chestnut Street.

The investigation determined that the driver, Antoine Legrant, 46, was operating the bus with a forged Kentucky license plate he had purchased for $150 from someone in Queens, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Legrant is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and vehicle and traffic law violations.
