Park Story Time

SoundSwap: ‘Seconds Out’: A Tribute to the Music of Genesis LIVE!

3 – 5 p.m. Enjoy a musical tribute to Genesis from Seconds Out: A Tribute to the Music of Genesis. This Long Island-based, five-piece band was formed in 2023 to celebrate the music of Genesis, This concert event is open to all. This event will be hosted in the John Philip Sousa bandshell (329 Main Street). In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Port Washington Public Library Lapham Meeting Room.

SoundSwap: Live Music with Harvest: A Neil Young Tribute

3 – 5 p.m. (Sousa Bandshell, 329 Main St.) ‘Harvest’ is a band of friends dedicated to celebrating the music of Neil Young and Crazy Horse in all of it’s incarnations – from sweet harmony driven acoustic tunes to exploratory electric jam – driven favorites of fiery rocking intensity.

Sandwiched In: Film – National Treasure

12- 2:15 p.m. (Port Washington Public Library, Lapham Meeting Room) In recognition of the July 4th holiday, you’re invited to enjoy a film screening of National Treasure (2004 – 131 min), starring Nicholas Cage and Diane Kruger. In this edge-of-your seat thriller, Benjamin Franklin Gates (Cage) is obsessed with finding the legendary Knights Templar Treasure and must solve ancient riddles and ciphers to track it down. Along the way, Gates must steal one of America’s most sacred and guarded documents – the Declaration of Independence – before a crucial clue in the treasure hunt falls into the wrong hands.
