Division Avenue Dragons conquer at homecoming game

It was a night of triumph on and off the field for Division Avenue High School at the annual homecoming parade and game on Sept. 20.

To kick off the event, students, teachers, trustees, and administrators gathered in the parade that stretched from Northside Elementary School down Division Avenue. Sports teams, clubs, and freshmen, junior and senior classes proudly displayed their handmade banners while homecoming court couples were escorted in the back of convertibles.

The parade continued onto the track surrounding the Division field, where several school organizations sold snacks and merchandise to support their causes. Before the game, seniors on the cheer, football, kickline, and marching band teams were honored with their parents and loved ones.

Division Dragons took to the field and quickly picked up the lead, which they held until the final 30-12 score against the Valley Stream North Spartans.

During halftime, performances by the marching band, kickline, and cheer members pumped up school spirit in the audience.
