Mourning Retired Glen Cove Police Officer Giambruno

On Jan. 24, the Glen Cove Police Department made a solemn announcement on their Facebook page.

“It is with a heavy heart that the Department reports the passing of retired Glen Cove Police Officer Peter Giambruno,” the department posted on Facebook. “Officer Giambruno served the community for 20 years. His service to the community will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace.”
During the Jan. 23 Glen Cove City Council meeting, Mayor Pam Panzenbeck held a moment of silence.
“He served 20 years and it’s very sad for all of us,” Panzenbeck said.
Peter Anthony Giambruno passed away on Jan. 23, 2024 at age 62. He is survived by his wife Larissa; children Kelsey, Steven, Ava, Milania and Jessie; brother Perry (Jo-Ann); mother-in-law Ann Kurylo; sister-in-law Christina Partagas (Jack); niece Kerri-Ann; and nephews Nicholas and Jack. He is pre-deceased by his parents Peter and Sherry and father-in-law George.
Along with being a retired Glen Cove Police Department officer, he worked at his family’s bakery Giambruno Bakery in Glen Cove. He was a connoisseur in the Spirits industry, specifically Bourbon and Scotch. He was also a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and enjoyed listening to his music.
Services were entrusted to Dodge Thomas Funeral Home of Glen Cove. He is interred at Locust Valley Cemetery.
