Light the Way

Kidz Bop Live 2024

6 p.m. start (Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, 895 Bay Parkway, Wantagh) On the heels of last year’s successful 60+ date run, the ultimate pop concert for kids is returning by popular demand to Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, and more this summer. KIDZ BOP LIVE 2024 is sponsored by Spin Master’s new fantasy-adventure children’s series, Unicorn Academy™, streaming now on Netflix. Make memories that will last a lifetime, and sing and dance along as the KIDZ BOP Kids – Aleah, JJ, Shila, and Tyler – perform your favorite songs on stage, like Dance The Night, Greedy, Vampire, and more. The tour news coincides with the release of KIDZ BOP’s latest album, KIDZ BOP 2024, out today, including the biggest bops of the year, sung by kids for kids.

Splish Splash, Animal Baths

1:30- 2 p.m. (Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City) Join the Long Island Children’s Museum in the Yellow Studio in the Feasts for Beasts Gallery to learn what goes into the care of LICM’s animals. MONDAY, AUG. 5

Theatre Playground presents: Dramatic Play!

1- 1:30 p.m. (Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City) In this interactive, theater-inspired workshop, children will act out an original story and help choose how it unfolds. Music, props, and sound effects create a theatrical world where participants are immersed in the story. Children are encouraged to express themselves as they create characters, explore different worlds, stretch their imaginations and build self-confidence. TUESDAY, AUG. 6

Music and Movement

11:30 a.m. (Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City) This weekly workshop capitalizes on children’s innate curiosity about rhythm and sound. Barbie Skate Party

Citizen Science

2- 3 p.m. (Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City) Come be a citizen scientist and study monarch butterflies in LICM’s Milkweed Garden. By measuring plants, rainfall and monarch eggs, you will be collecting real data that scientists can analyze. Your data will help them understand butterfly migration and will help conserve this species. Each Wednesday, take a walk through this garden and see how the plants grow as habitat for visiting monarchs. Please meet at the front desk at 2 p.m. for this program. Little Learners Art Lab

11:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. (Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Ave., Garden City) In this engaging workshop, participants are introduced to hands-on materials, artmaking, and inspiration from artists and techniques. Build critical thinking skills, expand vocabulary, and support imaginations as you play, create, and explore. Themes change weekly.
