3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. (Main Library Community Room) Excited for the Olympics? Join us as we spend the afternoon playing library related games. We’ll see who’ll be crowned the winner of the first ever Great Neck Main Library Games! This program is geared towards children in Kindergarten through Grade 5. No registration required.

7:00 p.m.  - 8:30 p.m. (Steppingstone Park, 38 Steppingstone Lane) An uncanny tribute to beloved, master singer/songwriter/performer, American pop icon Neil Diamond. He has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, CNN, VH1, Comedy Central and has been featured in publications like Rolling Stone Magazine, Spin and The New York Times.

Jester Jim

6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Cuttermill Park) This is not your ordinary juggling show! With a trunk full of props and a looping machine, Jester Jim takes the stage and starts his show. Young and old will be glued to his every sound as he performs his amazing beatbox intro. Kids and adults alike will be talking about Jester Jim’s wild antics for weeks!

National Vanilla Ice Cream Day Storycraft

2:00 p.m. – 2:40 p.m. (Great Neck Library) Cool off at your library and celebrate America’s favorite treat with fun facts and stories and a craft to create. Suitable for preschool to grade 2 with caregiver. No registration required. While supplies last.

Great Neck Rotary Band – Live Performance @ The Village Green

7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Village Green Park, Middle Neck Road & Arrandale Avenue) Join us at The Village Green on Wednesdays in July to enjoy live music performed by long-running local artists in the Great Neck Rotary Band. Outdoor performances will be held on The Village Green unless moved indoors (recreation center) due to inclement weather.

Movie Screening in the Park: The Super Mario Bros. Movie

6:00 p.m. start (Village Green Park, Middle Neck Road & Arrandale Avenue) Join the Great Neck Parks District for an outdoor movie on the village green. In this movie, a plumber named Mario travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother Luigi, trying to save a captured princess (IMDB). Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Starring Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Day.


Scavenger Hunts

A number of scavenger hunts are taking place in the Great Neck libraries. In the Main Library, the scavenger hunt for the month of July will be all about birdwatching. This program will be all month long at the Main Building and no registration required. At the Parkville location, go on a summertime-themed scavenger hunt in the Parkville Branch Children’s room through the month of July. Participants will receive a prize while supplies last.
