Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies: A Sweet Mother’s Day Treat

These simple yet delicious chocolate chip cookies are sure to bring a smile to your mom’s face and show her just how much you appreciate her on Mother’s Day. Enjoy baking and sharing these sweet treats with your loved ones.

Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. This should take about two to three minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to tough cookies. Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart to allow for spreading during baking.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the centers are set. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Once cooled, serve these classic chocolate chip cookies to your mom on Mother’s Day with a glass of milk or a cup of her favorite hot beverage.
