As President of Anton Community Newspapers, Frank Virga brings nearly four decades of experience in newspapers and magazines, and an advertising agency resume that includes award-winning art, design and production experience.
Frank has spent many years in the community newspaper arena throughout Long Island as a highly successful advertising executive serving as Advertising Manager with Suffolk Life Newspapers- one of the largest weeklies in the United States- for nearly twenty years, as Regional Sales Manager at Tribune Corporation’s Star Community Publishing and a number of other high-profile publications.
Frank’s vast experience, product knowledge and management skills have all contributed to the success of Anton’s significant growth since his arrival in 2010 as Director of Sales. His many long-standing relationships are a testament to his successful track record and respect in the market.
Frank resides in Suffolk County, New York.
Angela Susan Anton is a dynamic and innovative business leader, philanthropist and mother – one of the most familiar faces and “hearts” on Long Island. Publisher of Anton Community Newspapers, an award-winning group of 18 weeklies with a readership of more than 150,000, Angela is committed to keeping her readers informed and engaged, and to personally championing worthy causes that make a positive difference in the region.
Angela’s column, Long Island Social Diary, spotlights important social service projects to increase awareness and support. She has long spearheaded an array of charitable projects on Long Island, serving as both a hands-on volunteer and a senior advisor.
Angela is on the boards of numerous organizations, including the American Liver Foundation of Greater New York; the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center; the Theodore Roosevelt Council Boy Scouts of America; and the Long Island Arts Alliance. She is a member of the Nassau County Film Advisory Board, the WLIW Committee of the WNET.org board of trustees, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America Administrative Board. She serves as the chairperson for the Nassau County of Art’s Museum Ball, a major fundraiser for the museum. Angela also leads her company in community service projects, such as the annual Toys for Tots drive.
Known as a tireless volunteer, Angela is frequently asked to speak about the synergy of business and good works, and has been honored for her accomplishments too many times to count.
